Garden Bridge

Garden Bridge of Shanghai is the symbol of old Shanghai. It is 104.19 meters long with a roadway being 11.2 meters wide, and one 2.9 meters pedestrian walkway on each side. The Bridge can sustain a weight of 20 tons. Because of irreplaceable contribution to Shanghai’s liberation and construction, the Bridge has become a significant historic attraction and a tour spot in the city. Since 1949, it has been refurbished almost every two years.

In April 2008, The Bridge was moved away to the shipyard for maintenance. In February 2009 after 10 months of test and refurbishment, the bridge was restored to its original position, achieving a new birth and adding to 50 or 100 years to its life.
