Shanghai Museum
Shanghai Museum was built in 1952. In 1992, The Shanghai Municipal Government allocated a new piece of land at the center of the city, the People‘s Square, as its new site. The museum covers an area of 2800 square meters and possesses a collection of 120,000 precious works of art. It is well-known for its enormous and good quality collections in the world. It has eleven galleries and three special temporary exhibition hall, including bronze ware gallery, porcelain gallery, ancient painting gallery, ancient sculpture gallery, jade gallery, calligraphy gallery and seal gallery etc. Among them, bronze ware, porcelain and painting galleries are most attractive.
