Yuyuan Garden is located at northeast of Shanghai old city area with a long history of more than 400 years, and it is a National Key Heritage Site. It was used to be a private garden and was built in Ming dynasty. After the founding of new China, Yu Garden is well preserved and repaired several times. Now it covers an area of more that 20,000 square meters with numerous ancient pavilions, mansions and rockery with different shapes.

Yuyuan Garden is exquisitely designed and featured with delicate layout and shows the artistic style of garden construction of Ming and Qing dynasty. Yuyuan Garden is also the cradle of Shanghai-style calligraphy and painting.
